Of Mig Ayesa and the Rock of Ages

Monday, July 15, 2013

I've always been a fan of Mig Ayesa since his Rockstar INXS days. He's just a great singer and he's definitely not ashamed of his Filipino roots. And so, when I heard that there will be a rerun for Rock of Ages (The Musical), I immediately asked my friend Gelo to accompany me to the said performance. And nonetheless, Mig and the rest of the cast exceeded my expectation.

Before I share some of my most precious pictures in the said event, let me provide the cast and the summary of the musical to those who doesn't know about it.

All About Rock of Ages:

Rock of Ages is a rock/jukebox musical, with a book by Chris D'Arienzo, built around classic rock hits from the 1980s, especially from the famous glam metal bands of the decade. The musical features songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Steve Perry, Poison and Europe among other well-known rock bands.  (Credits: Wikipedia)

The Plot:

Young musician Drew meets young singer Sherrie at the Bourbon Room, located in the Sunset Strip of Los Angeles. This rock establishment, run by Dennis Dupree and his friend (and the play's narrator) Lonnie, was in unfortunate financial straits.

To generate much-needed funds, Dupree invites rock star Stacee Jaxx — who started his career at the Bourbon Room — to hold a big concert there. But egocentric Jaxx's visit wreaks havoc on the love story of our young couple.

Sharing some of my precious pictures...

Home Sweet Home Still...

Getting ready for the Rock of Ages concert....

All set and ready to go.... Love... Love... Love... :)

Cab ride on my way to RCBC Plaza (Carlo P. Romulo Auditorium) just because my friend Raran's not available to pick me up.... :(

The Musical Is Here...

Mig Ayesa is a true rock star...

And yes, this Broadway musical features Philippine's finest...

Pardon my addiction to coffee. I forgot to take a shot of my Caramel Macchiato courtesy of The Java Man located at the 4th floor of RCBC Plaza... At least, I was able to take a shot of my preferred snack during the 15 minute break interval of Act 1 to Act 2 of the Rock of Ages....

The Aftermath....

And yes, after 2 hours of non-stop performance from the Philippine's finest... We all called it a wrap....

Its nice to finally see Toni in person... She's so accommodating...

And yes, we are all Mig Ayesa fan except for Gelo... Hahahaha...

Waiting patiently for Mig Ayesa....

And yes, while waiting for my all time love Mig Ayesa, my friend Gelo was able to take a picture of Nyoy Volante and Vina Morales... (Should I say, we're both in our fan mode...) Hahahahaha....

I thought Gelo liked this guy, that's why I took a picture Paparazzi style... Hahahahaha....

I saw G. Toengi and dang, she's so beautiful... Wouldn't miss her in the crowd... Such a hot Mama... And by the way, that's her husband in there as well... (Shot taken Paparazzi style again)....

Bonding with The Mig Ayesa....

And finally... Our very own Mig Ayesa...

Smiling as always...

Damn Mig... you're one fine guy...

That killer smile would make you swoon... I swear...

Mig is so sweet, really....

Signing an autograph for a fan...

Mig did took some time to know his fans better...

Spell M-U-S-C-L-E....

Toni and Mig goofing around....

Toni is like the president of the Mig Ayesa club... Hahahaha....

I'm still waiting for my chance to have my picture taken with Mig... :(

Mig's so happy with Toni's shirt... It's all worth the hassle, I should say...

It's my friend Gelo's turn with Mig...

All smile for the camera... :)

Ain't Mig happy with his own pin courtesy of Toni...

Oh, wouldn't trade this moment for anything else... Demure me... Should I say, I'm a little bit shy that Mig did embrace me... Hahahahaha.... So much love... ;)

Wasted A but who cares... Yummy Mig is beside me....

Mig did really took some effort to spend time with us...

Jazz hands shot... One day, we will perfect this shot.... Hahahahaha....

Nyoy eventually joined the fun....

It's so nice of Nyoy to jump in into the shot...

Mig did certainly made everyone happy... Who would have said no to this shot....

I'm really not into asking actors and actresses to have their picture taken with me with Mig as an exception... But hey, if the lightning strikes better take it... Vina's just a few feet away from me so I decided to ask her if I could take a shot with her and she genuinely said yes with a big smile... And hell yes, she's beautiful in person as well.. After this shot was taken, she said thank you and me being me, I said welcome... Hahahahaha.... ;)

Early Dinner At Tokyo Tokyo....

The day has finally come to an end... Gelo and I decided to have our early dinner at Tokyo Tokyo Aegis Branch....

While waiting for our food...

Gelo and I decided to go with Pork Tonkatsu and Mixed Ebi and Vegetable Tempura Sumo Meal...

And since both of us are not in a hurry, we decided to eat Japanese style using chopsticks...

The Keepsakes.....

I actually had the hardest time getting my tickets... Unlike Ticket Net where as you can print the pass, Ticket World will just provide you a confirmation letter and you have to get the hard copy of the said ticket either at any Ticket World booth or its main office...

Since I just asked my friend RJ to buy me the tickets online using his Credit Card, Ticket World wants the CC holder to claim the ticket personally or have him gave us an authorization letter accompanied by a photocopy of the CC and a valid ID...

But, its all worth it... I have not one but two tickets to keep as  memorabilia...

Thanks RJ for this....

Toni, gave me this Mig sticker... Thanks sis...

We all wore this pin after the show...

Fun keepsakes that will last a lifetime...

And yes.... Mig signed my pin... Ahhhh.... this will be one of the best memories I'll have...

In Excess:

I suggest you watch the musical... Its fun, refreshing and definitely worth the time... ;)

Laters baby....
